Progressive Dental Care was established in 1985 with one doctor and 6 staff members.  Today we are proud to say that we are 22 strong.  We have 3 caring doctors with a total of 64 years of dental experience.  Many of our 19 staff members have been with us for over 10 years.  We are proud of our staff and we would like to introduce them to you.

Cleaning and polishing the teeth is only a part of what makes a dental hygienist an important member of your dental team. A dental hygienist will teach you how to maintain a healthy smile for a lifetime. She educates her patients about decay and periodontal disease and the importance of prevention. In addition to continuing care appointments (cleaning visits), she will also take a blood pressure, take necessary radiographs, perform an oral cancer screening & T.M.J. exam as well as examine your teeth for cavities and periodontal disease. She can also place tooth sealants, give you your fluoride treatments and oversee your tooth lightening.

You will meet one of our hygienists when you first join our practice (at your new patient exam). We will then schedule your first continuing care visit with the hygienist that will be caring for you and monitoring your treatment. We feel that keeping you with the same hygienist is in your best interest for one very important reason. You now have one person that knows you and your mouth so well and she will be able to determine if there have been changes in your dental health. We have found that our patients feel most comfortable when they are with someone that they have come to know well.

Our assistants have varied responsibilities. Not only do they assist the doctor in dental procedures from simple restorations to implant surgery, they also fabricate provisional crowns, keep their doctor on schedule and maintain sterilization.

You will meet one of our well trained assistants when you have a dental appointment with the doctor. They will meet you in the reception area and seat you in your dental chair. They will remain with you throughout the dental procedure. They are very knowlegable about dental treatment so if you have any questions they are happy to help.

DAKA dental Techs is our onsite, full service laboratory. It is the only one of its kind in Maine . Having this laboratory here at our office allows us to be in close contact with the creative processes involved in perfecting your smile.
