Tooth Lightening or whitening is a process whereby one’s teeth can be changed from an existing color to a lighter one. There are many methods that can accomplish this, and depending on one’s particular dental condition, various materials can be used.

The whitening process is most effective on mildly discolored teeth. Darker stains such as those caused by antibiotics can take longer to respond to treatment. The degree of whiteness will vary from patient to patient, depending on the structure of the teeth and the duration of the time and system used.

In our office we use two different methods to lighten your teeth:

  1. Night White™: This is our take home night time tooth lightening system with carbamide peroxide. Your lab created trays are typically worn at night for at least six hours of wear time. This process usually takes about 2-3 weeks.
    Day White™: This is our take home day time tooth whitening system with hydrogen peroxide. Your lab created trays are worn daily for at least 30 to 45 minutes once per day. This process usually takes 2-3 weeks.
  2. Tres White: A professional strength, premade and prefilled whitening tray system. Trays are usually worn 30-45 minutes each day for 10 days.
